Case Study: Opportunity Genesis:
Technology Scan Establishes Realistic Architectural Boundaries for
Clinical Assessment Device
|
|
|
A
leading manufacturer of clinical assessment and therapy devices
identified an opportunity to develop a very low cost personal

therapy was self-administered by patients. How do you arrive at
innovation when faced with technical challenges and performance
challenges?
Product
Genesis applied our proven Technology Scan methodology, a
framework that reaches out beyond industry boundaries to identify proven
technology that may be repurposed to a particular challenge.
The result: Product Genesis helped the client develop a more complete

Case Study: Value Genesis: Product
Innovation Produces Differentiation in Commoditized Market
|
|
|
A
leader in a class of household consumable products was seeing the market
share for their product line erode by a large number of new competitors,
particularly generics. How do you develop a new family of products, based
on core technologies to rapidly differentiate your product line from the
commodity items?
Product Genesis began with a review of the existing products and
associated manufacturing processes. Additionally, the client's
intellectual property was mined for other available technologies and
techniques. Working with commercial and consumer users, a set of needs
around the product offering was developed by making use of VOC (Voice of
the Customer) methods and technologies.
The
result: The Value Genesis process helped the client develop a product
portfolio that differentiated their product line from the generic
offerings that had inundated the market, allowing their product line to
be sold at a premium.
